Most voters in MA don’t need to show ID at the polls. Who does? People who are voting for the first time in Massachusetts and who didn’t show ID when they registered (for example, if they registered by mail). Also voters who did not return Massachusetts’ unique-in-the-nation annual census, an antiquated form that unfortunately many people don’t notice in the mail. Those voters can still vote, but must show ID. The City of Worcester created a great flow chart to explain what happens.
